How this relationship is derived
A stem with the same element as the Day Master and the same polarity. For a Jia (Yang Wood) Day Master, another Jia stem is Friend. For a Yi (Yin Wood) Day Master, another Yi stem is Friend.

Why the English names vary
“Gods” renders 神, a word for a symbolic role rather than a deity. English material differs on almost every name: 比肩 appears as Friend, Friend and other variants. Energy Archetype states both so a reader can match this page against other sources.

About Friend
What is the difference between Friend and Companion?
Both share the Day Master element. Friend has the same polarity; Companion (Rob Wealth) has the opposite polarity. Many traditions read Friend as steadier and Companion as more mobile, but both describe peer-level relationships rather than events.
Does Friend mean I work badly in teams?
No. It is often interpreted as preferring parity over hierarchy. Whether that helps or hinders a specific team is a question to test against evidence, not something the chart establishes.
Is Friend the same as Friend in my report?
Yes. Friend (比肩) is the traditional label and Friend is the plain-English name used in Energy Archetype reports. They refer to the same relationship; the second is an editorial translation chosen for readability.
