A stem of the element that generates the Day Master, with the opposite polarity. Water generates Wood, so for a Jia (Yang Wood) Day Master, Gui (Yin Water) is Direct Resource.

Why the English names vary
“Gods” renders 神, a word for a symbolic role rather than a deity. English material differs on almost every name: 正印 appears as Direct Resource, Supportive Resource and other variants. Energy Archetype states both so a reader can match this page against other sources.

About Direct Resource
Is Direct Resource about my mother?
Several lineages associate Resource categories with nurturing figures. Those associations vary by school, and this site does not use them to make claims about a reader’s actual family relationships.
Can a chart have too much Resource?
In the site’s disclosed weighting model, a large Resource share is reported as an imbalance to consider, usually alongside the question of where output or responsibility might be underweighted. That is an editorial reading, not a universal classical standard.
Is Direct Resource the same as Supportive Resource in my report?
Yes. Direct Resource (正印) is the traditional label and Supportive Resource is the plain-English name used in Energy Archetype reports. They refer to the same relationship; the second is an editorial translation chosen for readability.
